Recurrence is commonly described after inguinal hernia repair.
It can recur even with prolene mesh repair.
You should not strain.
You have to consult a surgeon,get examined clinically.
The swelling in hernia will be seen in upright position and while coughing.
The surgeon can ask for Ultrasound abdomen if he has any doubt.
Swelling that is felt internally can be a hernia recurrence.But,it should be confirmed by Clinical examination and Ultrasound abdomen.
Please do not lift heavy weights.
