Unable to remember tasks done in the past hour or simple words

I seem to suffer from memory loss. I am unable to remember simple words, movie and song titles, etc. I cannot remember simple tasks I have done in the last 5 minutes - an hour.

Memory impairment is not normal and needs to be evaluated. The common causes are vitamin B12 deficiency and thyroid problems, both of which can be tested in blood tests.

In addition, a brain scan (CT or MRI brain) would be useful in excluding any brain problem, which may also cause memory problems.

Treatment can be decided once we have identified the cause of memory problem.
