Late periods, spotting while urinating. Problem in bladder?

Resolved Question:

Hi,
I was supposed to get my period on 2-4-15. I am usually very normal and not usually late. Ive taken countless hpt and they've all been negative. Then about 3 days ago I started having a lot of abdominal tightness and pain. Starting yesterday I started having some spotting but it's only when I urinate so I'm beginning to wonder if its in my bladder. What should I do, what could be wrong with me? Could I still be pregnant?

Patient replied :

Im not having any burning no. Im 20 and my last period was jan 7th normally i have a 28 day cycle. My last home test was yesterday and it was negative. I do not take any medications and am a healthy person usually with no health issues.

Then once in a while you could have a delayed cycle / scanty spotting instead of a proper period.
If this persists, then you need a gynecological evaluation.
It should include an internal exam by an OB - GYN, a Pap smear, pelvic ultrasound scan and hormonal levels - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin.
Once in a while, you can ignore it as a deviation from your normal menstrual pattern, which often happens in women.
If you develop burning micturition, blood while peeing, or constant pain and tenderness in the lower abdomen - do get a urine microscopy and urine culture test done, to rule out urinary tract infection.
Take care.
Regards.
