My husband developed a bump/boil on the edge of his eyebrow near his nose. It became really red and swollen and he developed swelling around his eye and forehead. He went to the doctor this morning, they diagnosed it as a staph infection. They did not drain it due to the proximity to his eye. He is not running a fever. They gave him a shot, antibiotics, special soap and a cream to put on on. They did not do a blood test. Naturally, I'm concerned because of the proximity to his eye and the risk of a serious infection. I will monitor him for fever and any changes to the bump, but want to know how long we should wait before seeking additional help.
