Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
I have gone through the ultrasound report.
It is absolutely normal.
The baby is in a normal position.
The amount of fluid around it is normal.
Its weight is normal.
The placenta is normal.
So do not worry.
Everything is fine as per the ultrasound report.
If you have any specific concerns, please do ask.
Take care.

Borderline AFI - 106.6 mm, is it alarming. kindly provide your comments and suggestions if any.

Hello, Thanks for the follow-up.

No, at 36 weeks, it is as said borderline normal.
If it decreases any further, only then is it alarming.
You have to concentrate on baby's movements.
After breakfast ( 1 hour ), after lunch ( 1 hour ) and after dinner ( 1 hour ) - you have to lie down on your left lateral side and count the movements of the baby.
If the total of the 3 hours is more than 10, then do not worry.
Also, after 37 weeks, you can go for NST ( non stress test ) which is a graph of the baby's heartbeat alongwith movements.
It is non invasive.

Get weekly ultrasound scans done to check if the fluid amount is decreasing.
Drink atleast 4 - 5 litres of fluids per day - water, nimbu pani, buttermilk, coconut water etc.

Take rest.
You can take Pep Amino capsules twice a day till delivery.
If fluid further decreases, you may have to get admitted for a day to the hospital to receive intravenous fluids for a day
If inspite of this, the fluid does not increase, early delivery maybe required.
Right now, do not worry.
With proper fluid intake and protein intake, it should improve.
Just keep tab on fetal movements.

All the best.
Take care.

Thanks Madam for your valuable comments. Yesterday i.e. on 14.02.2014,i along with my wife had been to our Gynaecologist. By perusing the USG report and checking my wife he suggested for Caesearean delivery on 20.02.2014(her LMP was 10.06.2013)as per his opinion he stated that the fluid level is at boderline if it decreases further it will be a risk factor for the same. My question is whether everything had got developed for the baby at 36+3 weeks since the EDD is 17.03.2014. Kindly provide your valuable comments and advice for the same.

Hello
Before 37 weeks, a baby is considered premature.
There are inherent complications in prematurity also.
If the fluid can be observed and baby can be monitored by NST, delivery should be conducted at 38 weeks.
If the level declines or the heartbeat of the baby is in jeopardy, then a C section can be done anytime.
At 36 weeks, baby's lung development is not optimum.
