How to know whether someone is pregnant after immedietly after sex

Resolved question:

Hi doctor . I had sex with a girl fri she said she was on birth control and I used a condom she was also on her period . I always worry a lot and I was wondering if there was any chance she could get pregnant from are sex frinite. I talked to her today and she told me not to worry we used a condom and she was on the pill. She also told me today that she was on her period for two weeks . So I was scared the birth control wasn't working. Cause if it was wouldn't her period be only a week. I'm nervous she might get pregnant . What do u think of this all? Sorry I'm just really worried .

Hello,

Thank you for asking the query.

You were using a condom during the sex act. And I assume that the condom did not slip or tear during sex. So your partner adequately protected from pregnancy. In addition your partner was having period, and she was on contraceptive pills – This makes a very unfavourable environment for implantation and therefor for pregnancy. Irregular and prolonged bleeding can happen during contraceptive use and this does not necessarily mean the pills are not working. It could be due to excess hormones too.

So to conclude there was many layers of protection and there is no practical risk of pregnancy.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask followup questions
