Dear doctor,
Thanks for your help, in advance. I am very much worried about my situation. I was having very loose motions for past several months and am worried about it because it is a symptom of bowel cancer. I had a rectal examination and a FBC more recently which all turned ok. My doctor thinks that is may be due to IBS. But I am just not convinced with his judgment and am worried very much. Please help.

Thanks for your question and concern about your body. Bowel cancer or Colorectal cancer is a very common type of cancer usually seen in men and is just below to lung cancer in statistics. If diagnosed early through various screening tests available, it can be fully treated and is not so fatal. Based on your symptoms, your doctor may advise you to perform some screening tests for colorectal cancer. Of the screening tests, first one is a guaiac fecal blood test or a fecal immunochemical test. If you are not still convinced, you can as your doctor for performing a sigmoidoscopy or a colonoscopy to find any colorectal cancer. This can give assured results of your problem. Good luck.
