Blind spots and zig zags in vision

Resolved question:
Had 2 episodes in 3 weeks of blind spot in vision that turns into 15-20 minutes of bright multicolor zig zags that move across vision field can still "see" it with eyes closed has happened in the past a few times with years in between. No severe headache but extreme panic attack with huge spike in bp and pulse

I have noted your symptoms. The most likely possibility is migraine with visual aura. Sometimes, aura can occur without headaches too.

Other possibility is a partial seizure, arising from problems in visual cortex (occipital lobe)- this is less likely.

Finally, a remote possibility could be TIA- transient ischemic attack- due to reduced blood supply in the occipital lobe.

In any case, I would recommend doing an MRI scan of brain to exclude any pathology in the occipital lobe.
