Can hysterectomy I did 20 years ago cause abdominal pain now?

Resolved question:

Dear doctor,

I have undergone hysterectomy about 20 years ago. Recently, about 2 months back, I started getting some pain in the lower abdomen. At times, it makes me hard to walk and work. The pain is in my lower abdomen, which moves down to my legs also. It seems to me like my organs are hanging out. Is this same way related to the surgery I did?

Adhesions and endometriosis are the reasons of pain in stomach. Abdominal pain after hysterectomy is quite common in women and is usually seen declined within a year or so. These adhesions are formed in the body after the body gets healed after a trauma or surgery. Also these adhesions hinder movement of parts which were previously mobile. This hindrance causes pain. It is recommended to see a doctor to get rid of this, rather than taking otc drugs for pain relieving.
