Deer antler spray

Resolved question:
Hi,

On August 8th 2013, I started a supplement called Deer Antler Spray Velvet. It was a IGf1 booster which essentially provides the body with more testosterone and energy for physical activity. I took this because I was going into training camp for college football so I wanted to be in the best shape possible. I sprayed the substance under my tongue 3 times for 10 days. Then was advised as the directions to go off for 5 days and then start again for another ten. I took the 5 days off and then only continued to use the spray for 3 more days because I wasn't lifting a whole lot at the time because we were busy with practices and two a days. I thought it would be more useful for a time of intense weight training so I stopped. The mistake I made which I was never informed to do was take a pct after (post cycle). I read a lot of testimonials about Deer Antler Spray being a safe and legal product to use. Well i started noticing a little changes in my body like a tad increase in areola size (not big notice) after about two months and tad change in penis in flaccid state. It wasn't until about december until i really started noticing changes in nipples and areola size. I thought time would help but it has only progressively gotten worse so I feel like it is time I take action now before it is to late. Today is January 31 and my nipples are about the biggest they have ever been (puffy) and my penis in flaccid state seems it has lost some girth and got a little skinnier. There have also been times where I experienced a little ED because I wasn't getting boners as easily as I did over summer. Also, all this time my libido has really dropped and I don't really have a sex drive which was just through the roof all of high school and the summer after high school. I also don't get morning wood that much like I used to which i thought was strange as well. I am 19 years old, just started second semester of freshman year of college. I am 6' 2'' 185 and have a good diet so I don't think thats the problem. My chest structure really hasn't changed, just formation and size of my nipples and sometimes sensitivity. Please let me know what I should do or take to get my body back to how it was. I would like to do something ASAP because I have already waited almost 6 months and changes have remained the same if not gotten worse.

Hello, and thankyou for approaching DoctorSpring with your query. As you have rightly mentioned Deer Antler Velvet is a IGF 1 supplement. The increase in areola size, flacid penis , Erectile Dysfunction and loss of libido are side effects of the drug. And will take atleast 6 months to a year to resolve.

This supplement suppresses the gonadotropin secretion and therefore suppress endogenous testosterone (testosterone that is produced by your body) function. As a result of which over time the testosterone produced by your body slowly begins to decrease as you take supplements. This has caused a decrease in your testicular size, penis size and loss of libido. The reason you are feeling that you have worsening of symptoms even after stopping the supplement, is that your body has decreased its own production of testosterone and now you have stopped the supplement your body was utilizing. After stopping the supplement it takes a few months for the body to produce its gonadotropin and testosterone to optimal levels. However over time it will slowly increase and come back to normal.

The increase in areola and nipple size and sensitivity is a side effect known as gynecomastia. And is due to the testosterone being converted to estradiol. This increase in serum estradiol has caused the enlargement of breast tissue.
The only thing you need to do for both of the above set of symptoms you are having, is to STOP using Deer Antler Spray Velvet. Since you have already stopped I would advise you to keep it that way and have patience, Your symptoms will come down as your body begins to re-gain its normal hormonal functions.

As I have mentioned earlier, it will take 6 months to a year for your symptoms to regress. A point I want to mention here is that Deer Antler Spray Velvet is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Feel free to follow up with any further query.

Thankyou.

I appreciate the response. So from my understanding there is nothing I should take to help reverse or speed up the recovery process? And also you said it takes 6 months to a year to regress? Im assuming that in the next 6 months i should start seeing reduction in nipple size and the normal state of my penis and libido levels. Because it has been 6 months already and my nipples are the worst now. Also will all my symptoms ever restore back to the full of what they used to be. Remember, i only used probably about 1/3 of a small bottle. But so you suggest no kind of product to attack the gyno now before it gets worse? You really think it will just go away?

"So from my understanding there is nothing I should take to help reverse or speed up the recovery process? .... ". Actually nothing else is needed at all. Deer Antler spray only contains only very low IGF.

Sorry I misread your question. I was under the impression that you were using the spray continuously (since August 2013). If you have used only 1/3 of the a bottle there is nothing to worry. There is only negligible amount of IGF in it. You need not do anything about it.

The increase in nipple size could be a something called Persistent pubertal glandular gynecomastia, very common after puberty. This will regress normal in a year or so. You can get it examined by your GP during an annual physical examination. The ED is probably psychogenic. I suggest you don't worry about this. If the symptoms persists you can go for a hormonal evaluation at a later stage (S. Testosterone, FSH and LH) . But I am pretty sure this is a passing phase (happens a lot in the early post teenage period). You need not worry about this at all.

Again Sorry about the confusion
Hope this helps

That makes me feel much better. One last couple of questions. Would any type of supplement help to get rid of the fat in the nipples and shrink the sizes? I read a lot about gynexin but that seemed like it helped more for kids with man boobs instead of nipple size. I also read a lot of about nolvadex that could help too. But I want to get your opinion before I put something else into my body. And also, your telling me my libido should come back soon. Like i said, Iv been off this product for about 6 months and my symptoms are probably their worse now.Thank you

Hello. like I said in my earlier post you do not need to take any supplements. Gynexin is a herbal product and will not cause a difference in your condition. Nolvadex is a very strong drug and is not indicated in you. It has side-
effects too. I am glad you consulted me before going on any medication.
My advise to you is DO NOT take any supplement right now. In 4 months if you do not feel any improvement in your symptoms do the tests I mentioned above (Se. Testosterone, FSH, LH) Depending on the test results you
can be treated appropriately.
You need not worry, as this is just a passing phase.
Before taking any treatment I suggest you first get the tests done
I hope this has helped, please feel free to follow up if required.
Thankyou
