Delayed period after sex with IMPLANON. Chances of pregnancy.

Resolved question:
Me and my girlfriend (24,22 respectively) had sex without a condom (she's on implanon for almost a year) , we have done this before and haven't had a problem, and admittedly this is solely my concern (she isnt worried at all) , but I am concerned she might be pregnant, it has been almost a month since she got her period (though she has been grosely irregular since she started the implant) and I'm simply worried she could be pregnant. ( I'm a very anxious person and simply need some expert advice) my question is, should I be worried? Realistically I know chances are low, but I can't help but feel anxious

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
You have mentioned that she is on the Implanon.
It is perfectly alright to have unprotected sex while on Implanon.
The possibility of a pregnancy is next to nil.
Please, you do not have any real reason to get worried.
Menstrual irregularity is also common while on Implanon.
You can take a pregnancy test to reassure yourself, but I find it unnecessary.
Implanon is meant to allow you to have unprotected sex, after all !
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.
