DIASTOLIC DYSFUNCTION in ECHO. Is it not dangerous?

Thanks, please see attached reort, I'm concerned about what the Echo technician has reported, she has mentioned diastolic dysfunction.. I saw my cardiologist yesterday but he didn't say anything about that. Does that mean it's not important?

I asked this yesterday and was given some very good advice, I'm asking again for a different opinion from a different cardiologist too

The echo report that you have suggested that you have mild lv diastolic dysfunction. This means that your heart muscle does not relax as fast as it should after contraction. This is a very common denominator found in a sizeable proportion of the population and not an issue of any worry. This can be found normally in cases of tissue doppler.

Only when there are further stages of diastolic dysfunction like stage 2 or 3 imply that there is ongoing diastolic heart failure.

However mild lv diastolic dysfunction does not imply that the patient is having heart failure. Blood pressure control, diabetes control, proper diet and exercise are helpful for treatment of diastolic dysfunction.
Prophylactically you can take dielectrics for the diastolic dysfunction.
But again i reassure you there is nothing to worry about.

Patient replied :

Thanks, well my cardiologist didn't mention anything about it probably because it doesnt mean much.. He said :
I have very mild thickening consistent with an athlete's heart (1.4cm).. It's not HCM.
He said its concentric symmetrical thickening.
My ventricles are performing perfectly well
He doesn't have any concerns, I'm not at any risks, he has asked me to go abit moderate with my weight training

Yes I agree with your cardiologist on the echo findings. It is not a major abnormality and you can modify your lifestyle exercise and diet to deal with it.
You can reduce the intensity of your work outs.
