Hello,

Thank you for choosing DoctorSpring.

I would like to know whether the dislocation was treated. If so how ? (splint / manipulation ). Was an Xray taken at the time of injury ? Are you able to bend the the finger ? Is there pain even when the finger is rested ?

Please reply as a followup
Thank you

Yes, it was put back into place on the day and splint for a week and x rays taken before and after and all was OK.I can bend the finger but not as easily as the others and there is no pain when finger is rested.

Thank you for the additional details.

I discussed your concern with our team Orthopaedician. It seems there is still inflammation in the joint and the injury is not well healed. Nothing particular has to be done as of now.

You can wait about a week more to see if the joins settles by its-own. Rest the finger (avoid holding heavy objects, bags). BUT do move the fingers normally. If in 1-2 weeks there is no improvement you might need a repeat Xray and splinting . The repeat xray will give an idea about the current status of the joint and also will rule out a fracture.

Hope this helps
Thank you
