Does LADA arise naturally during menopause?

Resolved question:

Hi doctor,

I am a 56 years old female. My last periods was about 5 months ago. I think that was my last one. After that I was having typical menopause symptoms like hot flashes etc. More than that, I was getting abnormal blood sugar level readings also. It was not readings of a diabetic one, but quite abnormal. Are these things temporary and get resolved when my hormones get to their steady levels? I heard that there are other possibilities like LADA. But I think that it is not just and auto immune activity, and I have many criteria of LADA. I am totally confused. Please help me.

Thanks for your question,

Of course you are right. Hormonal shifts are associated with some other issues like diabetes etc. This is due to the sudden change in body chemistry which allows other things to come up. Of these, many things are changed inside body and beyond your menstrual cycle. Your health care team will help you in checking blood sugar levels regularly and to check C-peptide levels which are crucial in determining how your body behaves. If the symptoms change drastically, seek help of your doctor at the earliest.

Good luck.
