Hi. I am experiencing headaches which I have not had before. Before the headache comes I am experiencing dizziness and partial vision loss. I have had the dizziness and partial sight loss checked out before as it happended one other time and there was nothing wrong in a ct scan or with my eyes. However its has been happening alot over the past few days followed by a severe headache behind my right eye and temple. I was also feeling nauseous. I started to feel better after taking nurofen plus however goping to bed last night and today I have a really bad "pressure" headache. I have also been experiencing dizzinesd when I lay down. Only for maybe 5 second but I feel like my head is spinning. This has been happening for the last couple of weeks.

The headaches seem to be a Migraine related. Probably a type of headache called Migraine with hemianopia. The intermittent nature of the vision loss, association with headache, dizziness, nausea, location of the headache all point towards the diagnosis of Migraine. This is one of the atypical type of Migraine headache and not very well known. Thankfully there is nothing to be worried of , as this can be easily treated. Of course this will need further evaluation and confirmation. But this is the most probable single diagnosis. Since the symptoms are neurological it is prudent to rule out all the other causes of vision loss. Since you had a vision test and CT scan I assume that this has been done. A proper and complete Neurological examination is the best method to rule our other causes. If something suspicious is there in the examination you might need an MRI with blood vessel study.
The treatment consists of pain medication with anit migrane drugs like Sumatriptan. Long term preventive strategy involves Beta blockers, Calcium channel blockers, ACE inhibitors/ARBs. You should discuss their options with your Doctor and get a prescription (and also a Neurological examination done).
