Hiatus hernia and dull pain on upper left side

Resolved question:
Hi. I've been having dull pain off and on my upper left side with some radiation to my back on occasion for 1.5-2 weeks. I thought it was muscular but it isn't getting better. I also have increased gas.
I do have a hiatel hernia-- dx 15 years ago. Not sure if that's contributing to this? Any ideas? Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com. I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

I went through your post about the abdominal in the upper left quadrant radiating to back. The possible causes are peptic ulcer disease, pancreatitis and neuralgia.

Take prilosec and neurontin for relief. If there is no relief, you need to undergo a few tests like upper GI endoscopy and CT scan of the abdomen to find the cause.

I hope that answers your question. I would be glad to assist you further if you have any queries.

Regards,
Dr.R.K
