How genital warts are treated?

Resolved question:

Hi doctor, I recently found that I am infected with HPVs. I used to have sex with a lady who has got HPV earlier but it is already gone, before I started having sex with her. Is it possible to get HPV infection from a lady who has recovered long before? I have got some small genital warts which look like bumps. I used apple cider vinegar and salicylic acid as an application in skin. But it is not cured and really got worse. As from the experience of the lady I told, I knew that it will go by its own. But how long it will take for a recovery? Can prescription drugs like wartrol help in getting the warts removed? Please help.

Genital warts are caused by HPVs, as you told. But it is a symptom of HPV infection and can appear in about 3-4 weeks after having sex with a partner who already has go this infection. The partner need not have any signs of infection to transmit it to you. They may be dormant in your partner’s body without causing and symptoms. In some people, genital warts will disappear in 3-5 months, by its own, as body immune mechanism defend it. This is not necessary and may not happen at times, for a long period, leaving the warts behind. In such cases treatment is required to get it cured. Treatments include cryotherapy, electrotherapy, application of creams like podophyllum resin, podophilox etc. Anyway, wartrol seems to be a homeopathic drug and it is better asking a homoeopathic doctor about that drug and its uses. Anyway apple cider vinegar and salicylic acid are not found to have any effect on genital warts. It is advised to consult your doctor to have a detailed checkup done, before using any other medication of your own. Take care.
