HYPOTHYROID on THYROXINE with high TSH.

Hi,

I am 29 year old, I was diagnosed with hypothyroid 3 yrs back. I am taking throxine tablets of 50 MG daily. Recently i got checked for my Thyroid profile test. my T3 & T4 came normal but my TSH level is high.
report as below:
THYROID PANEL, SERUM
T3- 87.63 in range of 60.00 - 181.00 ng/dl
METHOD : CHEMILUMINESCENCE
T4- 8.80 in range of 4.50 - 12.60 µg/dl
METHOD : CHEMILUMINESCENCE
TSH- 9.78 -High- in range of 0.35 - 5.50 µIU/mL

please suggest me for medicine. if I need to increase the doses or any other supplements.

also, please guide me as I am regularly increasing weight. also, let us know, if it is going to effect if I am getting pregnant.

You need to increase the dose of thyroxine to 100mcg and retest TSH after 6wks. Target TSH should be 0.3-2.5 mIU/l. Especially if u are planning pregnancy.

Weight gain is not only because of hypothyroidism. You need to regularly exercise and consult a dietician.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I dont have any medical history. so as per suggestion I need to take THroxine 100mg every morning before breakfast. is there is any other supplements which I need to take??
Please let me know if you have any other suggestion as I had not got so high TSH levels in past. I am little worried.

Don't worry. Its a fairly common problem and easy to treat.
So no supplement is required. Take the thyroxine as i mentioned.
