I am having problems in excess vaginal discharge and burning sensation while urinating.

Resolved question:

Hello Doctor,

I am 36 years old and a mother of two children. For the past few days I am noticing excessive vaginal discharge and feeling a burning sensation whenever I go for urinating. I have spoken to my husband who said that in due course everything will be alright. Is there any cause to worry?

Thank you for your question. First of all I want to say that you should immediately consult a Gynecologist instead of listening to your husband. Excessive vaginal discharge and burning sensation associated with urinating may be a cause of Chlamydia infection. This is a bacterial infection transmitted through sexual intercourse, oral, anal or vaginal. I would advise you both to go for a checkup for investigating whether both of you are infected by this disease. If it is at all a case of Chlamydia infection, it can be cured by a seven day dose of high antibiotics. During the period of taking the drug, it is advisable not to have sex until the course is completed. Additional medicines can also be given to sex partners for speedy recovery.
