Hello,

Yes, there are chances that irregular periods are due to menopause.

Menopause is a condition which every woman has to face. It's a phenomenon where the ovarian follicles are no more formed because of decrease production of hormones which influence the production of ovarian follicles and its maturation. During menopause the follicles are not produced and because of this irregular periods start. Usually it starts at age of 45 yrs, before the periods completely stop.

There is nothing to be worried about. This is a normal phenomenon, you might get your periods after a while heavily and brief period of irregular period until your period completely stops.

Thank you,.
