Yes it is true that there are insulin sprays.Insulin sprays were invented to help patients that have been recently diagnosed with diabetes as it doesn't trigger the body's immune system to go after the insulin producing cells. It has been observed that insulin sprays reduced the number of antigens that attacked the insulin hormone producing cells. Ever since insulin was synthesized artificially pharmaceutical companies have been searching for ways to administer it in alternative ways. This is mainly because many patients prefer to use other forms medications rather in the form of injection. Injections are also not prescribed by doctors to everyone because it causes discomfort to the patients. But insulin sprays have not had much effect in patients suffering from type 2 diabetes because it is not able to regulate the blood sugar of the patient. It only helps to stop the body's immune system from destroying the insulin producing cells. It has also been found that insulin nasal sprays have a effect on Alzheimer's patients. When the spray is taken by Alzheimer's patients it reduces deterioration of neurological functions and helps in slowing down the disease.
