Hello doctor,
I am a twenty six year old female and I am suffering from some genital problem from some days. The discharge gets entangled within the public hair and creates nuisance for me as well. It has been painfully itching in the genitals from time and again and also some pale yellow coloured discharge is coming out of it from last some days, which has got a terrific smell all the time. Is it some Sexually Transmitted Disease? Kindly suggest some curing measures to overcome the same.

Thanks for your question; it is really unfortunate to know that you are affected by this infection at a tender age of twenty six. The most probable reasons may be the enjoyment of sex with multiple partners and that too without the usage of condom or prevention. You may have to undergo certain tests which will confirm the severity of the infection. Some blood and urine tests along with the sample swab tests taken from the genitals will reveal the infection level. Certain antiviral drugs and antibiotics can be of great help in getting relief from Sexually Transmitted Disease. The bacterium or virus may be the most probable cause of the infection and hence it is advisable to have cleanliness as a habit. The genitals shall be kept clean and antiseptic ointments shall be applied over the affected region. The vaginal discharges can be controlled by the medicines. It is recommended to use dry and clean undergarments of loose fitting. Also antiseptic powder can be sprayed from time to time for fast action.
