Laser hair removal

Resolved question:
Hello Sir. I'm a wheatish 23 year old female. I'm planning to take laser hair removal treatment since I have excess hair growing on my chin and upper lips. I want to know how safe it is. I'm gonna get this done by a dermatologist. Will it have any side effects? Will the exposure to these rays give rise to any type of cancer?

Hello

Thanks for posting your query.

I can understand your concern.

Laser hair removal is a safe and effective way for hair reduction and has no side effects nor does it cause cancer.

Laser hair reduction works on thick dark hair to make them fine and light such that they are not clearly visible except when seen up close. The growth also reduces.

Usually there is one session a month in the beginning, thereafter as the hair growth reduces, the session needs to be taken depending on the appearance of hair growth. Usually after completion of six sessions, there is a maintenance session once or twice in a year.

It's completely safe and cause no side effects. However, safety glasses have to be worn during the session and laser shouldn't be taken during pregnancy.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Take care
