Low RBC, WBC in blood tests. Should I worry?

Resolved question:
I would like to have the test results attached explained.

I see my RBC is lower then normal. My WBC is also on the low end of normal. Should this be of concern? Is there any additional tests I should ask for to be safe? As most people, with my health I like to err on the side of caution.

I had test done at around 1pm and had not had anythign to eat that morning except for some green tea.

Also, I was not menstruating at the time the blood test was done.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Your WBCs are fine, the limit is an arbitrary range fixed after a lot of statistical analysis. Anything within that range is normal, it does not matter if it is towards the upper or the lower limit.
Regarding RBC, it is just borderline low, and this is nothing to worry about.
You can get a CBC test repeated after 3 months.
Feel free to discuss further,
Dr. Jaydeep

Thank you for your reply. I also noticed that when I last had a CBC test in August 2013, my RBC was also low at 3.97.
Doctor didn't mention it as being abnormal, but since I noticed my RBC as being low with this result I was curious to see my last result and noticed it was also low. Everything else was in normal range with my last CBC as it is with this one.
What are some possible causes? Should I be concerned about anything serious?

Hello,
There is no reason to be concerned here.
The variation is very low, and this will have no bearing on your health. If your RBCS, WBCS, as well as platelets were low together, I would have been worried.
So please do not worry,
Regards.
