Memory loss, increased sleep with no desire to work.

Resolved question:
I'm a 45 yr old male executive and over the past year my wife and I noticed I've been experiencing memory loss to include my grand kids and professional co-workers names, driving 30 miles past my office only to realize I'm not sure where and why I am there, forgetting standard terminology used in my industry for the past 26 yrs, wanting sleep a lot when i'm use to sleeping 4-5 hours a night, no desire to go to work.

Hello,
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have noted your symptoms and agree that you need to be evaluated.
Evaluations should include a neurological and neuropsychological evaluation to look for features of dementia and depression.
After that, investigations should include MRI brain, blood tests such as thyroid profile and vitamin B 12 levels.
Treatment would depend on the findings of the above evaluation.
I hope it helps.
Best wishes,
Dr. Sudhir Kumar MD (Medicine), DM (Neurology)
