Pain in testicle after lifting weight with previous VASECTOMY.

Resolved question:
I recently started lifting weights again at the gym. I am physically fit already but after doing squats, deadlifts, and lunges the other day my right testicle is in pain. It doesn't look swollen but certainly hurts to touch - or if I try to bring my legs together. Wondering what it could be - a hernia, a strain, should I be concerned or do anything immediately. It's been about 3 days since it started hurting. Not sure if the weight lifting is related, just seemed like the obvious thing.

My medical history includes testicle torsion when I was about 11 years old, went in, turned out I had a double hernia and left hydocele at the time. Had surgery, never an issue since. Went in to have a vascetomy about 8 months ago and had to go under for surgery since there was so much scar tissue there. Surgery was a success, healed fine, no issue since.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com

It certainly seems related to your lifting weights. You should avoid physical exercise for few days and wear scrotal support. In addition, you can take a pain killer for few days so that the inflammation settles down.
If your pain does not settle down even after 4-5 days then you should get yourself examined to rule out hernia.
Feel free to discuss further,
Take care
Sincerely
Rajiv Goel
