Positive home pregnancy test but negative at the doctor's

Resolved question:
Hello
I took a pregnancy test at home and said positive 2-3 weeks then I went to my doctor and took a test there and said negative. But I'm nauseated, sore breasts, eating a lot if junk food which never happens. My period is due in a few days but this feeling is unusual to my period symptoms. I have just been to the bathroom and saw a little blood spotting. Am I pregnant or am I miscarridging?

Hello,

Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.

Could you please provide me a few details so that I could guide you better ? -

1. Your last menstrual period, and normal length of your menstrual cycles.
2. Date on which pregnancy test at home was positive.
3. Date on which the test the doctor took , which was negative.
4. Did the doctor take a blood test, urine test or an ultrasound ?

These details would help me clarify whether this is a pregnancy or a miscarriage.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon via follow-up queries.
Take care.

Hello my last period was between the 7-13 August. The positive test was on the 29th of August and negative test was a urine test at the doctors on the 30th of August. Every time I eat my stomach becomes sore.

Hi,

You have not yet skipped a period. Both the tests have been taken too early.
They would be inconclusive taken this early.

Also, the symptoms that you describe, could be attributed equally to a pregnancy or to pre menstrual symptoms.

To know the difference, please take a urine pregnancy test AFTER the 7th of September. If you already have a proper period by then, there is no need for a test.

All the best.
