Possibilty of HIV infection from precum in anal sex.

Resolved question:
Hi,
I have anxiety, I am a very anxious person. So today I thought of something that made me terrified. About 15 years ago I had anal sex with a guy for like 2 minutes, it was my first time and I was naive and stupid.
He only had little precum, but finished oustide, so he didn't ejaculate inside, because it was my first time I had very little blood on surface of anus I realized after it happened.

A year after that incidence I made an HIV test and thanks God was negative. Even after it was found negative, I suffered for about 10 years from anxiety that it may have been false negative.

However, I never made any Hapetitus C test. I realized now that since I bleeded little bit, maybe his precum has the virus, and I read that symptoms doesn't show for 15 to 20 years. I am scared. But during these 15 years I had liver functions tested when I had urine infections in the past, last one about a year ago, and it was normal. Would such test would have showed if there is any effect of HCV after this period ? also I had hapetitus B vaccination when I was young, would that lower chances ?

what are the chances ? please help i am scared. and i know it's easy to go and have a test , but not for me, i would have a lot of anxiety from just doing test , please help

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
The good thing is HIV has been ruled out, especially since you took it after an year it's conclusive.
Though it is difficult to predict whether you contracted HCV/HBV from the exposure, but normal liver function tests over the past 15 years is a good sign. Becaue if you did contract the disease, there would have derangements in your liver values.
And yes hepatitis b vaccination does provide safety against future infections, but it can't be ruled out completely.
With normal liver values, i don't think you have either of the infections. Moreover to get the virus, you need repeated exposures mostly. From one such exposure the chances of getting infection is very less.
So overall i don't think you should be worried.
However so that you can be relieved of your anxiety, it is better that you get the test done, because the results will be conclusive and you will be relieved of your anxiety once in for all.
What i can assure you though is with normal LFT, you should not be worried.
Let me know if you have further queries,
Regards.

I have read that transmittion is usually through blood to blood, does the fact that he didn't bleed (had only precum) while I bleeded, makes the chance much more less ?, is there evidence that HCV is present in precum ?

thanks

Hello,
Yes HCV is mostly transmitted through contaminated blood and blood products.
There has not been any evidence of HCV or HBV present in precum.
You should not worry at all, because from the exposure you had it is unlikely that you will get HCV.
Let me know if you have any other queries,
Regards.
