Prevention for BREAKTHROUGH BLEEDING with CONTRACEPTIVE.

Resolved question:
Hi I have started a new contraceptive pill zoely. I am in the second week
And have been getting breakthrough heavy bleeding for the past week. The previous two
Months I skipped my period by missing the inactive tablets so I believe
The bleeding is because of this. I want to know if I can go to the inactive tablets now and have my period since I have had 21 active tablets and then start a new pack and still be protected . Previously on levlen I used to skip the inactive tablets continuously until I started to have breakthrough bleeding then I would take a break and go back a new pack I'm just unsure I can do this with the fact I've started a new pill

Hello
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
Yes the bleeding is because you skipped the inactive tablets.
It is not advisable now to skip any tablets.
Finish the pack and then start a new pack on schedule.
WIth irregular bleeding and spotting, more tampering with the schedule will only make it more uncertain.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
