Problems with digestion

Resolved question:
Hello,

I am not sure whats wrong. I have had problems with digestion in the last year/ year and a half. Sometimes after I eat food I am nauseous and throw up once or twice and then it goes away, sometimes I am insanely bloated for 2-3 days or have pains. On friday I went out with friends and drank alcohol, next day I was insanely nauseous, it passed int he night, since then I have felt nauseous occasionally during the day, I have been very bloated and have a hard stomach. After I eat food my stomach feels harder and hurts. It often hurts under my diaphragm on the left and sometimes also on the right, on my center stomach and lower back also on the right. I am currently really bloated and have a hard stomach. IT almost feels like its blown up with air, its painful and I dont know whats wrong with me. I dont eat a crazy unhealthy diet, I am not overweight either. I am 23, I also find it hard to sleep at night from coughing, it is getting better though.

Please any advice

Hi,

Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.

I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
You are having dyspeptic symptoms.
An upper GI endoscopy may be done to rule out gastritis/ulcer disease.
H.pylori infection is one of the common causes and this infection should be ruled out. The night time coughing could occur in few conditions. But along with the other symptoms you have, the most probable cause is acid reflux disease.
You can take OTC Prilosec twice daily before food for 4 weeks.
Try to avoid painkiller medications. However you should NOT delay medical help. Pancreatitis is another condition that needs to be ruled out. Do NOT take alcohol or spicy food for now. Again, you should NOT delay medical help.

I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further. Please feel free to ask followups / clarifications.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
