Hello Doctor,
My sister has been diagnosed with RMS cancer bladder on october 2013. She has already underwent a surgery and 13 cycles of chemotherapy. Currently, the doctor told like since the disease has been spread to nearby organs and have multiple metastases, she cannot be cured and hence needs to move on for palliative care. I would request a second opinon for the same.

With persistent ringing in one ear, you need to rule out eardrum rupture. Though the possibility is less since one ear has already cleared up, but that is the best way to approach it. Because in case there is ear drum rupture treatment should begin right away.
Tinnitus or ringing is one of commonest side effects of loud sounds causing acoustic trauma. It recovers spontaneously in most cases, but if it does not it is better to rule out an ear drum rupture. You're also hearing yourself ECHO, and that has been persistent. Medicines are not very effective, while if it's needed masking devices can be used, to get rid of the symptoms.

I am sorry you were not clear with what needs to be done.
You're suffering from acoustic trauma, and the recovery from tinnitus ( ringing in ears ) in such cases is mostly spontaneous. If it persists it is better to get yourself evaluated by an ENT specialist.
So i will suggest you get yourself evaluated, with persistent ringing in the left ear.
