Should I take AMOXICILLIN, 12hrs or 8 hrs once?

Resolved question:
I am a 27-year-old female (120 lbs.). I am getting a root canal and have been prescribed 875 mg Amoxicillin tablets which my prescription says to take every 8 hours. There are 21 tablets. I just took one and then looked up the normal dosages. for Amoxicillin. Everywhere I've looked online I have seen it says that 875 mg. should be taken every 12 hours. Is 875 mg. every 8 hrs. too much and could that prescription have been a mistake? Is it ok if I take it every 12 hrs instead of every 8 since I am worried?

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Considering your body weight, 875 mg 12 hourly is fine. Higher dose than that can cause gastric irritation and upset.
Some doctors prefer higher dose, it is not wrong, but then it is not required.
I can assure you from my side 875 mg 12 hourly is fine.
Please feel free to discuss further,
Regards.
