Hello,

Thank you for your consult at DoctorSpring.com. I can understand your problem, and will try to help you the best possible

From your description, let me explain the disease first ->

You have left sided nasal obstruction and nasal discharge since 8 weeks. History of similar episode every year in sept.

Previous CT scan normal. Your most likely diagnosis is Allergic Rhinitis (hay fever ) – because of change in season you develop nasal symptoms (including nasal obstruction and discharge) due to exposure to allergen.

Treatment Recommendation for the same:

• Continue nasal spray (nasonex spray twice daily for 3 months) – this is most effective and safe treatment, but you have you use it regularly

• Antihistaminic medication including Tab.Levocetrizine 5 mg with monteleukast 10 mg once daily for 10 days
• Steam inhalation

As your previous CT scan is normal, I would recommend that you don’t need Ballon sinoplasty surgery, because this surgery is required only if obvious irreversible disease seen in sinuses on CT scan to maintain drainage.

But to say more clearly I want see your CT film (not report). If you can pictures of you ct film and mail me I will able to give definite diagnosis.

Treatment Recommendations, request you to discuss them with your treating Doctor:
• Nasonex spray twice daily for 3 to 6 months
• Tab.Levocetrizine 5 mg with monteleukast 10 mg once daily for 10 days
• Steam inhalation
• Reply with CT film

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

Thank you.
