Tightening pain in chest, increased heartrate and trouble breathing.

Resolved question:
Female - late 30's. I get a dull tightening pain in the centre of my chest which can lead to an increased heart rate and often associated with trouble breathing, this can happen anytime of the day or night. I can be in a deep sleep and suddenly wake with this feeling. The pain makes me anxious and have got myself to the state of panic before.
I had puemonia when I was 6 and have scaring on the lungs. I am having a bit of breathing difficulty at moment- seasonal.
I have days when I feel completely fine, but on bad days 60% of time I 'm tired and sometimes feel faint. Symptoms can be worst during middle of female cycle and towards endI. I am unsure wether the chest pain is from breathing/ heart/ hormones or under lying anxiety. I don't have any real cause for stress and am happy in life, my blood pressure is good

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com

Does the chest tightness come more often during a certain phase of menstrual cycle? Do you get chest pain on walking or climbing stairs? Do you feel breathlessness or sweating when climbing stairs?
The description given so far appears like atypical chest pain. Also your age makes you a low probability candidate for coronary artery disease. Still further description of the pain like whether in exertion or rest only etc would help to know if it is cardiac in origin. The best test to objectively rule it out at this point of time would be a tread mill test or a stress test.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards
