Treatment for red eyelid besides HYDROCORTISONE, ERYTHROMYCIN.

Resolved question:
Sir,'
Over one month ago my lower eye lids became red just at the top. There was no pain, itching or scaling.I believe this may have been a reaction to a retinol cream I had used.First I went to a dermatologist. She prescribed Elidel and when that did not work Hydrocortisone. That also did not work and she told me to see an eye doctor. The eye doctor prescribed Erthromycin Ophthalmic Ointment, eye drops and warm compresses.I went back and another eyer doctor said I had Blepharitis and prescriped Doxycycline and Erthromycin and warm compresses. He used a tissue to rub quite hard across my eyelid several times Erthromycin and they became swollen and darker red.I have read as much as I can about Blepharitis but can not find any cases where just the upper edge of the under eye lid was red without any other symptoms.Attatched is a picture. If you can help I would appreciate it.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
The present condition is because of over usage of medications & excessive rubbing , the best thing is to just leave it alone for 3 days & get back to us . No medication , no touch technique to follow .

Hi Doctor,

For 10 days after the redness appeared I did not use any topical ointment or prescription drugs. The Hydrocortisone 2.5% did help a little. Is it safe to continue using this? Also hot compresses follow by plaching some light pressure across the eye lids also seems to somewhayt help.It will not go away by itself

When I used the Hydrocortisone 2.5% it did seem to help a little

Hydrocortisone is a steroid , we advise it sparingly, your condition looks to be because of medication overusage , you should continue the hot compress.
Regards.
