There is nothing to worry about. It is a normal physiological process. This whitish discharge you have described is called vaginal discharge. This discharge is secreted from the glands in the vagina and the cervix, which lubricates and keeps the area free from infection. Generally, the discharge is milky white in color and odorless. It is minimal in quantity, however in certain conditions like during pregnancy, breast-feeding, sexual arousal it increases in amount. Unless you have a sudden increase in quantity or if it is associate with burning and intense itching then it should be probably due to an underlying infection.

Abnormal vaginal discharge is seen in certain conditions like:

Bacterial vaginosis it appears white-yellow with a fishy odor,

In gonorrhea it appears yellow,

During yeast infection it appears cheesy white with thick consistency.

In your case, it is completely normal. I would suggest you to use a mild soap during shower twice a day and to avoid using tight clothing. It can be treated depending on the cause. If it is due to bacterial infection, then antibiotic tablets and creams can be used. If it is due to a fungal infection then antifungal creams and tablets are used and fortrichomoniasis infection tablet metronidazole is effective. You can start this treatment after consultation with your obg-gyn doctor. Hope this helps.
