Vision problems after phaco-emulsification.

Resolved question:
I have had my cataract surgery(phaco emulsification) done 3 days ago with Iol transplant(rayner asopheric lens 920h). I have almost no vision in my eye and extreme redness, with slightly swollen eyelid but no pain.my vision is very blurry and i can only make out the colors and the outlines.
My doctor has prescribed the following medications:
tropicamide 1% drop -2 X 5 days
milfoxin drop-6 X 5 days
nevanac drop- 6 X 5 days
timolol maleate drop- 2 X 5 days
moxicip tablet- 1 X 5 days

Will my vision improve? is the extreme redness normal?

Hello and thankyou for approaching DoctorSpring with your query.
I have gone through your case and understand your concern.

After cataract surgery, recovery varies from person to person. You may have a slight headache, occasional tearing and slight scratch gritty feeling in the eye can occur in days after the surgery which will pass.
The eye may appear red or eyelid swollen for a few days. Vision too may be blurry and will improve over the next few days. Your eyes may be sensitive to light for weeks to months to light which will gradually pass. You can wear sunglasses to avoid this. It can take upto 3 weeks for your eye to fully recover and reach your best vision.

However since you say your vision is very blurry and you can see only color and outlines and that you are having extreme redness, I would strongly advise you to get an ophthalmology examination done to rule out any complications, as it is difficult to me to asses the severity of your symptoms without examination.

I hope this has helped. I will leave this consult open so that you can get back to me anytime.
Thankyou.
Take care.
