Weight gain, fatigue, swollen eyes, face. THYROID BLOOD TEST.

Resolved question:
Over the past few months, Ive been noticing changes. Apart from the weight gain, fatigue, and dry skin, my mother says that my neck face and eyes are swollen. Ive even changed my whole diet of lean meats and vegetables(no breads, fruits, red meats) and was doing 30 minutes of cardio everyday. I didn't lose a pound and was actually gaining weight. I do have a family history of thyroid disorders and lupus from the women, so i had blood tests for my thyroid. My T3 uptake was a 33 (range22-35); T4 total was 7.1(4.5-12.0); free T4 was 2.3 (1.4-3.8); and TSH is 2.21. I'm not really sure what other test s I need to take.I just want to stop feeling like a zombie.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I would like to know the following details:
How are your menstrual cycles. Please describe how often you get your menses, the number of days it lasts for, the quantity (how many pads do you have to use in a day), are your menses associated with pain or passage of clots

Have you been on any medication?
Do you have a goiter (this is a swelling on the front part of your neck which arises due to enlargement of the thyroid gland)? It may also be helpful to send pictures of your face including your neck taken from the front view and the side view.
Also do you notice any swelling on your arms and legs?

Thank you for respondnig Dr Muthukrishan,
As far as my mentrual cycle goes, its regular most of the time (It may be late 2-3 days), as long as I'm not stressed, during high stress times I can either have two in one month or none at all, But this hasn't happend in about 6 months. My gyno gave me a pap and said I was normal. It lasts about 5 days, accompanied by mild pain and major clotting during the first two days ( I typically use the heaviest absorbency of tampons durings these days, About 6-8 so I wont risk TSS).
I am not on any medication, except for excedrin or tylenol for occassional headaches and menstual pain. I do have swelling in my face and arms. Its the worst in the mornings. It's really hard to determine if my neck is neccesarily "swollen" or if I'm just getting fat, although my mother says that is and that I look "puffy". There is some pressure but no pain in the front of my neck when I swallow and when I lay a certain way, but am unsure if it is due to the cold weather (We hit a hard cold front in Texas).

Hello,
Overall assesing all the information, your swelling isn't due to hypothyroidism.
I will advise you get yourself physically examined by a internal medicine doctor and he needs to check blood circulation in veins of neck, and your arm.
I will also advise you to avoid painkillers and let me know the response.
Regards.
