Weird lump on top edge of scrotum

Resolved question:
Hello I have found this weird bump on the top edge of my scrotum, it is brown in colour and fairly small. I have been married for 8 years and never had sex outside of our marriage with neither of us having history of any sexual infections. I am concerned to what this might be? It is not painful or itchy.

Hello

Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com. I can understand your concern.

I checked the picture and there is a suspicious looking brown colored bump, it could possibly be a melanoma. But I can't tell you for sure on a photograph as it requires a thorough evaluation and a biopsy.

I would recommend that you visit your dermatologist for the same.

Till you get an appointment with the dermatologist you can visit your gp who can do a dermatoscope and give you a diagnosis.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Take care
Regards
Dr Kruti

I was unsure if it was a brown growth or a scar over top of something. I know that this is certainly discouraged but I did remove the top brown layer fairly eaisly and lack in pain. The attached picture is what was underneath very different looking.

Hello

Thanks for your reply.

The lesion that you sent a photo of definitely looks different and would need further investigation.

I would recommend that you visit your doctor.

Meanwhile you can apply neosporin cream over it twice a day to take care of any bacterial infection that may have occurred following the pulling out of the top layer.

I have already booked an appt to see my regular doctor, the one question to put my mind either way is does this look like a wart. I have read that hair does not grow out of warts but I do have a few hairs growing out of the white area of the "legion" also I have read that even only having one sex partner the chances are good you will get hpv or warts? Not sure of the validity of this? There seems to be limited possibilities of what this is and it keeps my brain going, worried and confused. Any further clarification would be great as it is a 5 days before I can see my doctor.

Also I would like to add,

That if you have only one partner, the possibility of hpv is very low.

Thanks
