Duromin side effects

Hello,
I was taking duromine 15mg for the last 2 weeks. I had no side effects, my eating was supressed a little but really didnt feel any different, and i only lost 1 kg each week.
This week i have been increased to 30mg. I feel awful. The first night i couldnt sleep, i am day 4 now and can sleep at night. Im anxious, heart racing really fast, shaking, headaches, really thirsty etc, and i weighed myself today and have put on 0.5 kg?? I am not losing anything.
Can you please tell me why im not losing any weight, and about these awful symptoms im having and what to do. Thank you.

Thank you for your consult. Thank you for asking the query.

I can understand your problem. The lack of sleep, headache,palpitations are all caused due to the side effects of duromine. Lack of sleep is one of the commonest side effects with people taking duromine. Since you are experiencingawful side effects, it will be advisable not to continue the medication at this dose of 30mg, perhaps you could get back to the original dosage of 15mg, and try to lose weight at slow pace. Your body doesn’t seem to tolerate 30 mg dosage that well, so I would advise you to stop taking it.
I would recommend you the following.

  1. Lower the dose to 15mg
  2. Simultaneously work on healthy diet and regular exercise to attain your target weight.Duromine works best if you exercise and maintain a healthy diet.
  3. Higher doses does not mean more weigthloss ( Infact higher doses may affect your capacity to do exercises as a result of the side effect)
  4. Without knowing your weight and clinical details I cannot comment exactly on this: But, Duromine is a banned drug in certain countries. Its not very dangerous or anything, but not so good either. Discuss with your doctor about the possibilities of weight loss without drugs.


 It is not always a good idea to completely depend on medications for losing weight. So, Thirty minutes of daily exercise provides an effective loss of weight. Maintaining a food diary faithfully and not skipping meals could be one of the safest and surest ways of shedding weight. To burn the maximum amount of body fat in the least amount of time, it is ideal to have a good combination of diet, weight training and cardio. So adopt a holistic and customized approach to lose weight which will promise you a healthy living.
