My mother had a bubble placed in her eye to help put the retina in place we would like to know when the bubble starts to break up what to expect and where does the breakage go. Thank you

From your description, I think the procedure your mom had undrgone is called pnuematic retinopexy.
Regarding the duration the bubble has to stay inside depends on the indication for the procedure.If all breaks have been closed, the retina usually attaches within 24 hours.The bubble will get automatically absorbed into the vitreous humor.
