Sorry to hear about your problem of Bacterial Vaginosis. It causes a very foul odour which I think you would not smell during the time of your menstrual cycle. Such is the nature of Bacterial Vaginosis. It is the main reason behind the occurrence of Vaginitis in most of the females. Vaginitis is a disease of vagina. It should not be concerned as a STI. The main reason behind the occurrence of this particular disease is because of increase in growth of flora inside the vagina such as anaerobes like Gardnerella.

When this happens most of the females tend to resort to douching their vagina. I would advise you not to do this. The reason behind this is that when you will douche frequently it might be risky. You should know that it is very essential for your vagina to remain in a certain acidic state in order to maintain a proper balance of the amount of flora. Hence frequent number of douching can highly disturb this state which can be risky.

This disease can be confirmed by a test known as the whiff test. If there is a fishy smell and also a discharge of grayish and white color then it is confirmed that you might be suffering from this disease. This test should be done by a professional such as a health expert in a local clinic of yours. As a treatment to this disease you can have various antibiotics which can help tremendously. However the antibiotics should be necessarily prescribed by your doctor only before consuming them.

Genital herpes as evident from the genital herpes pictures is an infectious disease which leads to ulcer and lumps on the genitals of one’s body. It is highly painful and has no cure. Proper medication might reduce its effects. Good luck, have a nice day.
