Bumps and rash above groin

Resolved question:
I have this what looks like to be a rash above my groin region. its a row of 3-4 bumps that are red, but do not itch or hurt. Just curious as if they should be a concern or not, I have not been sexually active in the past month or so.

Hello,

Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com. I can understand your concern.

From the picture, it seems to be molluscum contagiousum which is a viral infection. It spreads by auto innoculation.

The treatment for it would be extraction by curettage from your doctor.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Take care.

I went to my dermatologist today and she told me it was a molluscum or an std, and then proceeded to freeze them off. Im extremely concerned about this i went to get blood work done to test for hiv, and other stds. Is this as serious of a problem as it seems? How long till the bumps usually go away after being treated? Can it spread to my face or other regions easily?

Hello

Thanks for your reply.

It's not a serious problem.

It can spread to other regions easily by autoinnoculation.

Once the bumps are treated, the virus is killed immediately.

Take care
