Can I use VIAGRA after surgery for INGUINAL HERNIA?

Resolved question:
I had surgery to correct an inguinal hernia on January 7.....the surgery went well but I would like to know if it would be possible to use Viagra or would it be wiser to wait? I should add that I did have a mild stroke last January but I was able to recover completely although I do take medication for high blood pressure and cholesterol (Amlopodine & Atorvastatin). Otherwise, I feel fine and am usually in good health. Can you advise me?

Hello,
Thanks for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I can understand your concern.
May I know what is the dose of Amlodipine are you using currently?
What was your recent blood pressure measurement?
Have you used Viagra before?
Do you have past history of myocardial infarction?
Regards

Currently, I take 5 mg of Amlopodine daily. My bood pressure varies but the last reading was 131/80. I have used Viagra before without any problems and I do not have a history of myocardial infarction. Your original response was not as specifc as I might have hoped. I still don't know if taking Viagra is all right. Can you offer clarification of your original answer?

Thank you

Hello,
Sorry I required some additonal information to answer your quesiton. Yes you can use Viagra , but with caustion. You can start with a 25mg dosage, or a dose you have used previously. The reason for caution is because of the hisotry of stroke. In case if there is a discomfort following the drug you should get in touch with your Physician.
In general it is safe for your to take the medication.
Hope this clarifies. Please feel free to ask followups
Thank you
