Chances of healthy pregnancy after previous miscarriages.

Resolved question:
I have one healthy 20 month old son born in April 2013. He was born at 38 weeks due to early signs of preeclampsia through c-section. I became pregnant in July 2014 (LMP start 11 July 2014). I had a missed miscarriage between weeks 8 and 10 with the baby measuring about 2 weeks smaller. During initial transvaginal U/S, the baby was visible with heartbeat. During follow-up visit, the baby's heart stopped beating. I was on progesterone, folic acid and aspirin. I had a D&C on 19 September 2014. I became pregnant again in October (LMP start 25 October 2014). I had a slight amount of spotting during week 5 and again, although slightly more in week 6. I am again on progesterone, aspirin, folic acid and also Metformin. During the transvaginal U/S at 6 weeks 4 days (based on LMP), there was no yolk or fetal pole and some subchorionic bleeding. My beta hcg level was measured on 10 December 2014 and again on 12 December 2014. My levels went from 13,000 to 18,000. Is there any possibility that I will still have a healthy pregnancy or is this a strong indication of a blighted ovum?

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
The strep infection was sitting there for the past 2 months, and hence it would take some more time for your symptoms to go. Strep fever normally presents with myalgia and joint pain, and that's what you're experiencing. Amoxycillin is one of the most effective antibiotics in cases of sore throat, and strep infections. So once you finish your course, at least a week, you will gradually start recovering.
Continue the medicines for 3 more days ( 1 week completion ) and let me know if there is improvement.
Regards.

Thank you. I just find it strange that I never even had a very sore throat. I never thought something like strep throat would make my feet and legs hurt so bad. Is there a possibility that the antibiotics won't work because I've had it for too long??

Hello,
The fact that you never had a sore throat shows that your immunity is good.
However being in constant contact with babies all down with strep throat there was always a very high probability of you catching it.
The recovery process will take longer, however I am sure they gave you Amoxycillin after a culture, which means that your infection has nit developed resistance to Amoxycillin.
So kindly give it time, and if required it can be continued for 2 weeks.
Regards.

Hi again. Today marks an exact week of being in my antibiotics (amoxicilin) still have 3 more days but I am still experiencing the joint pain and muscle aches. Also lots of stiffness in my back. The pain is primarily in my feet and legs but occasionally it'll be random aches in different places. I'm having a difficult time understanding how all of this can be linked to strep. I'm worried that this is something more severe that happened to occur around the same time. i feel as though many doctors are even confused by these issues and my doctor was even surprised when my strep test came back positive. I'm just very confused and worried. What do you suggest at this point?

Hello,
Thank you for your follow up.
Will it be possible for you to upload all your reports? Sometimes recovery can take slightly longer if the antibiotic is started late.
However i need to evaluate your blood profile, RFT, ESR, CRP.
Once i see this reports I will be able to suggest treatment. You can get the tests done and follow it up with me.
Regards.
