Resolved question:
My contraception failed yesterday and I purchased Next choice one dose (levonorgestrel 1.5 mg) from my pharmacy this evening. I am a bit apprehensive about taking it at this time because I had my gallbladder removed on January 10th. I am not certain if this medicine will have any effects on my liver or system since I no longer have my gallbladder and wanted to check with a doctor before taking the pill (I have in the past taken EC and been fine). Any timely advice would be appreciated.

Yes, taking it once is fine, there would be no serious issues .
However, in general, random intake of EC is not encouraged, as it loses its efficacy and the side effects mount, when it is taken frequently, randomly and casually.
Right now, do not have apprehensions about taking the EC this once.
