Hi, We needed some advice on Std. Here's what happened (sorry for being so detailed)
On 1 Jan 2014 my wife and I had unprotected oral sex with a male sex worker. The oral sex involved:
- Him licking wife's vagina for around 10 min
- My wife and I sucking his penis for around 20-30 min
- him sucking my penis and licking my anus for around 20 min
On 1 Jan in the morning I woke up with a bad cold and both during the next 2-3 days my wife and I had upset stomachs.
On 18 Jan my wife got a rash inside her vagina. The rash cause dryness, very small bumps on the inside flaps, white stuff coming out which was more than usual and a bad itching feeling.
On 22 Jan I got a boil/ watt next to my anus that also itched. The boil is still there but seems to have reduced and itching also almost gone.
My wife went to the gynac and who gave her some cream to put on the outside of her vagina, a table to swallow and a tablet to insert in the vagina. The gynac said it was normal rash and nothing to worry. However my wife did not inform the gynac of the sexual encounter. The rash has cleared up now but not completely gone.
On 25 jan I got some blood tests done for HIV, Herpes, syphilis and hepatitis B.
All tests came out negative however I will receive the herpes test results tomorrow.
That's the story. My questions are:
1) what stds could we have got from the oral sex
Especially what are the chances to have contacted HIV?
2) is it too soon to have tested myself for the stds I read that one should wait 3 months for a conclusive std result
3) since the gynac said its nothing major would her diagnosis be correct, considering my wife did not tell her that we had unprotected oral sex 20 days back
4) should i worry about another stds than the ones mentioned above and if so when should I get those tests done
5) finally how worried should we be on a scale of 1 to 10?

The symptoms that you experienced on 1st January could not have been caused by an HIV infection as symptoms of HIV appear at least 2-4 weeks after exposure and may even take up to 10 months to manifest. The negative HIV tests on Jan 25th imply that you don't have an HIV infection. As a routine precaution, it would be advisable to take the test again after 2 weeks as the potential exposure was recent.
The vaginal symptoms that your wife is experiencing implies that she has vaginitis. I would suggest that she undergoes the following tests
1. Vaginal pH test
2. Microscopy saline wet mount test
3. Culture
4. Rapid antigen nuclieic acid amplification test
Once the results of the tests are known, further treatment can be suggested.
To better diagnose the cause of the wart near your anus, it is recommended that you upload a picture of the same.
I would recommend the following tests for you and your wife.Please do these right away.
1. Test for Gonorrhea
2. Test for Chlamydia
3. Test for Trichomoniasis
In addition to the above tests, I would recommend that your wife does a pap smear test as well. You do not need to repeat the tests for Herpes, Syphilis and Hepatitis B. Additionally I would recommend that you and your wife get vaccinated for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B, if you have not already done so.
If any of the tests for STDs are positive, please get treated for the same. After 6 months, please repeat all the STD tests.
The chances of you having and HIV infection are very low given the earlier negative result. But as stated earlier, please do a repeat test in 2 weeks.
