Got bit by VOLE. Need emergency treatment?

Hello.

If the wound is big and lacerated, you will need wound care. So you need to visit the ER.
If you have not had a Tetanus shot in the last 5 years, please go to the ER for the same.

If the wound is not severe or big and you have taken a Tetanus shot in the last 5 years, you need not go to the ER.

If your wound is small, then please do the following.
- Clean it thoroughly by running warm tap water over it for a couple of minutes.

- Encourage the wound to bleed by gently squeezing it, unless it's already bleeding freely.

- Apply an antiseptic cream over it and leave it open.

- If the bite is painful, you can take painkillers, such as Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen.
