Headache, light headed & twiching in arms.BRAIN TUMOUR?

Resolved question:
2 weeks ago I had a terrible headache that lasted for hours, since the my head has felt foggy and light headed. I have been experiencing occasional headaches and pressure around my eyes and bridge of my nose and my ears keep popping. My nose feels blocked but not like when you have a cold and my nose isn't runny. I thought perhaps it could be sinus related but I've never had a sinus problem before and I would have thought it would have cleared up by now. I've tried over the counter remedies such as decongestants and nasal sprays but nothing helps.Headaches aren't usual for me and I'm starting to worry that its something sinister causing it. Additionally I have been experiencing twitching, in my arms and legs, like a little muscle spasm that you can see, kind of like an eyelid twitch. Could it be related? I read that twitching is a type of seizure and that all of these things could be caused by a brain tumour and now I'm really scared. i have to wait another week to see my GP, please help

Hello.
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have noted your symptoms and can understand your concern.
In my opinion, however, I do not feel that your symptoms are suggestive of brain tumor or any other serious brain disease.
Also, twitching is unrelated, and are not suggestive of seizures in your case. The twitching is most likely due to strain and anxiety. It would go away with rest and relaxation.
Headache of two weeks duration, however, needs evaluation to find out the cause. It could be related to severe migraine, sinus infection, lack of blood supply to brain (ischemia) or muscle-tension related. If possible, please get a brain scan done.
I hope it helps.

Patient replied :

Are primary brain tumours quite rare? I am a 32 year old female. The headaches are not severe just like a foggy head and a bit light headed. They start from the pressure around my nose and eyes and move up towards my forhead. Also my upper set of teeth have been feeling pressured too. What would a brain scan be looking for? I'm so worried I've not been sleeping or eating and I cannot get an appointment with my GP till next week

Thank you for getting back.
Yes, you are correct. Primary brain tumours are quire rare. Also, your symptoms are not suggestive of brain tumor.
In brain scan, we can look for evidence of migraine (tiny white matter lesions), sinus infection, etc.
