Irregular vaginal bleeding with normal ULTRASOUND after ABORTION.

Resolved question:
Hi, I have been having irregular vaginal bleeding for almost three weeks. I had a transvaginal and regular ultrasound which looked fine. I also had a surgical abortion about 9 months ago. The doctor said she's not overly worried about the bleeding because they would have caught something during the d & c. I'm confused by this. Do they send to the lab? And would you recommend getting an endometrial biopsy at this point? I am 37 years old.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
Normally, they do not send specimens of surgical abortions to the lab.
And no, it would not pick up the issue of the irregular vaginal bleeding since it would be clouded by the pregnancy findings.
Plus, your symptoms started just 3 weeks back, and the abortion was 9 months back.
When did you have your ultrasound scans, and is it possible to upload the results ?
I would like to have a look at them before recommending any further steps.
Also, certain factors can lead to irregular vaginal bleeding - anxiety, emotional turbulence, stress, weight fluctuations, unaccumstomed exercise, travelling, smoking, drinking, late nights, erratic eating habits, change in climate or altitude etc.
Does any of this apply ?
Have you had any hormones or other medications meanwhile ?
Looking forward to hearing from you with more details.
Regards.
